Privacy Policy

Wigo ("we", "us", "the app") is operated by Rabin (rabinale.com.np). This policy explains what data Wigo collects, why, and how it's handled. Wigo helps you find nearby companions, join activities, and stay in touch — and some of those features require sensitive data like your location and identity documents, so we want to be specific about it.

Data we collect

• Account data: email address, phone number, display name, and an optional profile photo and interests, collected when you sign up or complete your profile. You can sign up with an emailed one-time code, or with Google Sign-In, in which case Google shares your name, email, and profile photo with us to create your account.
• Location: your device's precise location, used to show nearby users and activities on the Discover and Activity tabs. Location visibility is opt-in and can be toggled off at any time; when you start a live location share with a connection (e.g. while meeting up), your location is shared with that specific person only until you stop the share.
• Sign-in security data: when you request a sign-in code, we briefly log the IP address the request came from, solely to detect and rate-limit abuse (e.g. someone trying many codes in a row). It isn't used for any other purpose.
• Identity verification: if you choose to verify your account, a photo of a government-issued ID is uploaded to a private, access-controlled storage bucket for manual review. It is not shared with other users and is retained only as long as needed to complete verification or as required for safety/dispute records.
• Messages and calls: chat messages you send through the app, and call metadata (who called whom, when, and for how long). Voice call audio itself is relayed live through our calling infrastructure (LiveKit) and is not recorded or stored by Wigo.
• Safety data: if you use SOS, trusted-contacts, or reporting features, we store the information you provide (e.g. a report's contents, an SOS event's timing and location) for longer than ordinary app data, since it may be needed to respond to a safety concern.
• Device/push data: a device push-notification token, used only to deliver notifications about messages and calls to your device.
• Advertising ID: the app shows banner ads via Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID to select and measure ads. See "Advertising" below.

How we use your data

To operate the app's core features (matching, chat, calls, activities, safety tools), to send you notifications you'd expect (new messages, incoming calls, match requests), and to review reports or ID verification submissions. We do not sell your data. The only data shared for advertising purposes is the advertising ID described below.

Who can see what

Other users can see the profile information you choose to make visible and your approximate/precise location only while you've turned on visibility or an active location share. Chat messages are visible to the people in that conversation. ID documents and report contents are visible only to you and to Wigo for verification/moderation purposes.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account from the app's settings, which removes your profile, location data, and messages. Safety-related records (reports, SOS events) and information required for legal or safety compliance may be retained after account deletion for as long as reasonably necessary.

Third-party services

Wigo relies on a small number of infrastructure providers to operate: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), LiveKit (real-time voice call relay), Firebase (push notification delivery, crash diagnostics, and — if you sign in with Google — authentication), OpenStreetMap/CARTO (map tiles — no personal data is sent to render a map), Resend (transactional email for sign-in codes), and Google AdMob (banner ads — see "Advertising" below). Every provider except AdMob processes data only as needed to provide their service to Wigo, with no independent use of your data.

Advertising

Wigo shows banner ads through Google AdMob to support running the app. AdMob uses your device's advertising ID and general information (like approximate location and app usage) to select ads and measure their performance; it does not receive your name, email, messages, or precise location. This is governed by Google's ad partner data policy. You can limit ad personalization from your device settings — on Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads; on iPhone, ads are non-personalized by default unless you separately grant tracking permission.

Your choices

• Turn location visibility on/off at any time from the Discover tab.
• Limit ad personalization or reset your advertising ID from your device's privacy settings.
• Decline ID verification — it's optional, though some other users may prefer verified companions.
• Delete individual conversations or disconnect from other users.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us below.

Children

Wigo is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
